the homeless: inspiring american youth

I don't pay a whole lot of attention to the homeless people in Burlington. as in I don't give them money. I'm not insensitive -- just the opposite. if I think too much about the homelessness situation, it upsets me. and I'm also broke as shit, except I have things I actually need to pay for. but by the same token, the homeless are kind of impossible to completely ignore here. an exchange I had with a curiously upbeat gentleman on the corner of Church St yesterday:

man: "hey is that really ginger ale in there?"
jenna: "yeah."
man: "you sure?"
jenna: "...yeah."
man: "aight, stay in school!"

and indeed I will.
